Project Description

Innovationsbogen BF38 is a 145-meter-long, arch-shaped office building located in Augsburg, Germany, encompassing a total area of 14,800 m². Designed with sustainability in mind, the building incorporates several eco-friendly features, including rooftop photovoltaic panels, specialized heating and cooling sails for climate control, district heating, and the use of groundwater for cooling.

To accurately simulate the building’s heating and cooling systems, the design integrates heat recovery chillers, ground-source heat pumps, and supplemental district heating. These systems deliver conditioned air through heated and cooled floors in the occupied areas, enhancing energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
Epsten Group provided energy modeling services to support the project’s pursuit of LEED certification, ensuring that all systems met rigorous sustainability standards.
