Project Description

The D.M. Smith Building Renewal transformed a historic campus facility into the new home of Georgia Tech’s Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Public Policy. The 38,305 SF renovation created modern teaching, research, and collaboration environments, including a large lecture hall, classrooms, offices, student support spaces, and the Marilyn A. Brown and Frank Southworth Policy Innovation Lab. The project improved accessibility through the addition of an elevator and permanent wheelchair access features while upgrading building systems to enhance occupant comfort, safety, and energy performance.

Epsten Group provided LEED consulting services, guiding the project team through documentation, credit compliance, and certification coordination to support the achievement of LEED Platinum certification.
