Project Description

This Visitor Education Center will has three major sections connected by covered breezeways. All systems and materials are designed to minimize environmental impact and support human health. Epsten Group served as the Building Envelope Commissioning Agent. Epsten Group’s services also included the observation of the building envelope components, wall systems, roofing systems, the review of submittals and shop drawings, and the observation of standard water and air testing on installed materials. The project achieved LEED-NC Platinum certification and achieved a LEED Innovation Credit for Envelope Commissioning.

Envelope Components Commissioned

Stucco walls, siding walls, various below-ground basement and crawl space walls, bridge and porch transitions, standing seam roof panels, a photovoltaic system, high-located clerestory windows, waterproofing, airbarrier, curtain wall/storefront systems, windows/doors, roofing, glazing, and drainage system
