Project Description

The Fernbank Science and Observatory Center, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is a 25,000 square-foot building consisting of several science exhibitions, nature center, halls, and an observatory building. Khalil Dehghanian was the roof consultant for this project. Services included leak investigation, complete roof and wall evaluations and assessment of observatory structure and its concrete walkway deck, development of project specifications to address new poured-in-place lightweight concrete insulating material over the existing cracked concrete deck and a new granule-applied coating over the concrete walkway of the observatory. Mr. Dehghanian’s services also included the construction management, contract administrations, including contractor selections, meetings, addenda, change orders, pay requests, final inspection, punch list preparations, final close-out documents, and post-construction services.
