Pete Choquette and Craig Goldstein to speak at Greenbuild 2014

The 2014 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo starts next week and you’ll want to make sure this item is on your calendar: “Passivhaus Office: A Real World Case Study.” With the introduction of the more stringent energy requirements of LEED v4 and the coming 2030 Challenge, Pete Choquette, Design and Consulting Department Manager and Craig Goldstein, Energy Team Leader here at Epsten Group, will be giving the presentation along with Stefan Kremer, Managing Director at Auditor at German Sustainable Building Council in Munich, Germany.

“Passivhaus Office: A Real World Case Study” will occur on Friday October 24 from 8-9am and will explore the basic principles of the Passivhaus standard and how they were applied at NuOffice (a Passivhaus inspired office building which achieved 94 points and LEED-CS 2009 Platinum Certification, and a project Epsten Group worked on with Intep in Munich), the challenges encountered in optimizing the energy performance of a speculative core and shell project, and the difficulties the project team overcame in reconciling European techniques and energy systems with North American energy standards like ASHRAE Standard 90.1 and the LEED Rating System. Participants will receive Educational credits.
